From the Principals

Cooler air, beautiful leaves and football are all signs that fall is in the air! This means that our students and staff are back in the swing of things with daily routines and engaging lessons. October is an exciting time at CSA because our students are beginning to dive into a project-based learning unit of study, or PBL.

A PBL is a teaching method where students gain knowledge and skills through the study of an engaging topic. Students investigate a relevant, interesting problem or situation through their daily studies in several content areas. Often this involves guest speakers, field trips, and presentations to maximize student learning. Our hard-working teachers use proficiency scales, assessment data, and student interests to drive their PBLs.

We look forward to seeing our families at this month’s PTA meeting and parent coffee as well as during our fall conferences on October 25th and October 27th. Please look for more information coming home about conferences in Thursday folders and our weekly updates.

As always, thanks for your continued support of Colorado STEM Academy!
